The admission into any college in Tamil Nadu is based on the caste wise cut off marks. For that, you are advised to apply for counselling under Anna University. The admission in Anna University and its affiliated colleges is based on your caste also. Your cut off is not bad but I think you cannot

Your PCM percentage is the eligibility criteria for some colleges, it should be greater than 60%, for some it is 55%.

The question itself is contradictory. Can a 4 star hotel be as good as a 5 star hotel like Taj or Marriott? The answer is obviously no. You can get admission depending upon following factors:
1. If the NIT is among top 3 your chances of getting decent branches are negligible.
2. Using home state plus OBC can get you a decent branch in other NITs.

It is absolutely true that Punjab is famous for its drug addiction but I must say everything depends upon you if you have never been into that situation where you have not consumed any drug or you are not used to any alcoholic things then no matter what no one can force you to become an addict for.
