Information Technology Eligibility

KJ Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology offers two years of postgraduate-level M.Tech courses. KJ Somaiya Institute of Technology MTech is a two-year course offered only in Artificial Intelligence. The postgraduate-level course is spread across four semesters and offers advanced knowledge in AI. To secure admission to the M.Tech course candidates must have valid qualifications which are as follows:

• BTech in Computer Engineering / Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, with 50% aggregate (45% minimum in case of candidates of Backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only).
• For sponsored candidates, a minimum of two years of full-time work experience in a registered firm/ company/industry/ educational and/ or research institute/ any Government Department or Government Autonomous Organization in the relevant field in which admission is being sought. 

A bachelor's degree in engineering or technology (BE/B.Tech) or a master's degree (MSc) in a related field such as electronics, computer science, information technology, mathematics, physics, or another relevant field is required. Usually, the institute demands a qualifying degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (or an equivalent CGPA). NIELIT accepts entrance examinations such as the GATE and the AKTU PG Entrance Exam.

Direct candidates can appear in examinations if they satisfy the eligibility criteria as applicable to them.
