When you get admitted (or at the time of application/verification), you should submit:

Admit card of the entrance exam (e.g. MAH‑MCA‑CET / PERA‑CET / CUET‑PG — whichever you appeared in) 

Entrance exam scorecard / result sheet 

Class 10th (SSC) mark sheet and passing certificate 

Class 12th (HSC) / Diploma mark sheet and passing certificate 

All semester‑wise (or year‑wise) mark sheets of your undergraduate (graduation) degree 

Graduation passing certificate / provisional certificate (if degree is not yet convoked) or degree/convocation certificate (if graduated) 

If your CGPA needs conversion to percentage (some universities give CGPA), then a CGPA-to‑percentage conversion certificate / letter (if applicable)

Transfer Certificate (TC) / Migration Certificate (especially if you studied at a different university)

Birth Certificate (or age proof / proof of date of birth)

Identity Proof (any Govt. issued photo‑ID — e.g. Aadhaar, Passport, etc.) 

Passport size photographs (usually 2 photos)

(If applicable) Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) and non-creamy‑layer certificate, for reserved‑category applicants — if you are claiming a reserved seat.

(If applicable) Domicile certificate — if required under reservations/quotas.

(If applicable) Work‑experience certificates, if you have prior professional experience and it's relevant/required.

(If applicable) Any extra‑curricular / achievement / co‑curricular certificates (sports, awards, other recognitions) — if you want to claim benefit or for reference.

Appear for the entrance exam: CUSAT uses its own admission test, the CUSAT CAT (Common Admission Test), for MCA admissions. 

Register online:

Visit the official CUSAT admissions portal. 

Complete “New Candidate Registration, ” fill personal and academic details, upload scanned photograph/signature, and select MCA (or other preferred programmes) as course choices. 

Pay the application fee. For general category the fee is ₹ 1,100; for Kerala SC/ST candidates it's ₹ 500. 

Select programme preference: After the exam and rank list are out, log in to your profile and register options in order of preference (e.g. MCA Regular, MCA Cost‑sharing, campus preference, etc.).

Seat allotment / counselling: CUSAT will allot seats based on your CAT rank + options submitted + eligibility + seat availability (quota / regular / cost‑sharing). 

Document verification and fee payment: If allotted a seat, you must complete admission formalities (submit required documents, pay fees, etc.) to confirm admission.

To be eligible for MCA at JNU:

You must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline (i.e. B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, BCA, B.E./B.Tech, etc.) from a recognised university under the 10 + 2 + 3 (or equivalent) pattern. 

You must have “adequate competence in Mathematics” — i.e. mathematics should have been studied either at the 10+2 level or during graduation (depending on your undergrad background) to qualify.

Your aggregate marks in the qualifying degree (undergraduate) must be at least 55% (for general / unreserved category).

For reserved categories (SC / ST / OBC / PWD / others as per applicable norms), there may be relaxation in the minimum marks criterion in accordance with regulatory/University guidelines.

With BCA as your base qualification, you can pursue many roles in IT / software / tech-support / business‑tech fields. Some common paths:

Software Developer / Application Developer / Full‑Stack Developer — Write and maintain software, apps, web services. This remains the most common choice. 

Web Developer / Web / Mobile App Development — Build websites or mobile applications (frontend, backend, full stack).

Database Administrator or Database / Data‑handling Roles — With skills in DBMS, SQL, data‑management, you could manage databases for companies. 

System / Network / IT / System‑Administrator / Technical Support / Infrastructure Roles — Manage company's IT resources, networks, support, servers etc.

Data / Data‑Analysis / Entry-level Data Scientist / Data‑related Roles — If you pick up data‑analysis tools (Python, SQL, analytics, maybe machine learning basics), BCA can be a springboard to data‑oriented jobs.

Cybersecurity / IT‑security / Security‑analysis / Network‑security Roles — With additional certifications (or self‑learning), you can aim at security‑related positions.

Digital/Web‑based Business / E‑commerce / Tech + Business hybrid roles — As many companies digitize, roles like e‑commerce support, digital‑services, tech support, or small‑scale product management may be open.

Higher Studies / Specializations — Many BCA graduates do a postgraduate course: something like MCA (Master of Computer Applications), MSc (IT / Data Science / CS), or other specialty courses. This can lead to deeper technical roles, or more advanced fields (research, management + IT).
