Institute of Engineering Eligibility

KJ Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology offers two years of postgraduate-level M.Tech courses. KJ Somaiya Institute of Technology MTech is a two-year course offered only in Artificial Intelligence. The postgraduate-level course is spread across four semesters and offers advanced knowledge in AI. To secure admission to the M.Tech course candidates must have valid qualifications which are as follows:

• BTech in Computer Engineering / Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, with 50% aggregate (45% minimum in case of candidates of Backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only).
• For sponsored candidates, a minimum of two years of full-time work experience in a registered firm/ company/industry/ educational and/ or research institute/ any Government Department or Government Autonomous Organization in the relevant field in which admission is being sought. 

Major criteria for admission to the B.E./B.Tech course offered at Newton's Institute of Engineering (NIE) Guntur comprise of Academic Performance and Entrance Examination result. The Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with core subjects as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with a minimum percentage requirement as specified by the college for eligibility. Admission typically is through the Andhra Pradesh State Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test scores. Students are granted direct admission based on merit or special criteria, which can be established by the college itself, for management quota admissions. Document verification and counseling are conducted as part of the process.
