IHE Delhi University is one of the well known institutes to provide home Science courses. The need of the M.Sc. in Food and Nutrition programme at IHE DU is appreciated because of its excellent syllabus and faculties. 

Over the past few years the cut-offs have hovered around 85-95% for candidates who have a Home Science background and 90-95% for those candidates who do not.

The current academic session about the fee structure of the Institute of Home Economics, University of Delhi for the first year of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) for the academic session 2021-22 charges Rs. 18,660 for Indian students. It can fluctuate from year to year but, in general the Institute of Home Economics (IHE), University of Delhi (DU) is preferred and there is always a great deal of rivalry to get in. Since it is a women's college then the number of applicants may be few compared to co-educational institutions. 

IHE gives admission to the courses where University of Delhi holds the Common Entrance Test (CET) for different under graduate programmes they offer. There are courses, such as B.Sc. Home Science, B.Sc. Nutrition & Food, B.Com. (Hons.), and B.A. (Hons.) Family & Community Science.

The total number of seats available for the students in Bsc programs offered in the Institute of Home Economics is a total of 360 seats at Delhi University. The total number of seats available for BSc Home Science students is 160, and the BSc (Hons) Home Science students have 120 seats. The balance 80 seats is meant for other BSc courses which the institute offers. The distribution of seat are now bifurcate in various categories:

For General category, the number of seats are 50%.

For OBC category, the number of seats are 27%.

For SC category, the number of seats are is 15%. 

For ST category, the number of seats are 7.5%.

The highest package offered till now for B.Sc. students at Institute of Home Economics DU is around INR 3-4 LPA and the average salary package offered is INR 2 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies Haldiram's, Coca-Cola, Nestle, Mother Dairy, FSSAI, etc. The average placement rate of the college is 60%

Guru Nanak Institute of Technology offers an average package of INR 4-6 Lacs per annum for MCA students. But the maximum salary that can be offered can be 10 to 12 Lacs per annum. The college has a pretty good placement record, and each year approximately 70%- 80% of MCA candidates are placed. Some of the leading recruiters in the country are Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and so on.
