Salary and position depends on the hotel you choose, and salary depends on the experience (Skill knowledge) and theory knowledge you gain, i.e. more experience more salary.

Kindly provide more detail and explanation to your question for better understanding. In case you are unable to understand the course and you plan to quit it then you should decide at the early stage as the Hotel Management course is of 4 years duration. So, I would advise to decide now and not in your 2nd or 3rd year as it will be too late.

IHM-Mumbai and Pusa are the best government colleges. You need to score really good marks to crack admission in these colleges, your rank should be below 600-700.

The admission dates are not mentioned on the official website of IHM, Mumbai. I would suggest you to contact the institute directly for the details. The admissions are on first come, first serve basis so I suppose you might have a chance.
