Overall in all the years combined, there are approximately over 5000 students in all the courses offered by the college.
For BEE/Btech: CSE: 180, ISE: 180, ECE: 180, AIML:180 and AI&DS, CS-DS are newly introduced branches so there current intake is around 60 which will be increased in the upcoming years.
For MBA around 200 years enroll every year .
For Diploma courses (MBA) there are around 100 students.

There are a few events that take place around the year which are as follows:
1. Hostel Fest (Utopia): This fest is held once in a year for and by the hostellites which carries sports as well as cultural events. However if you stay outside or is an day scholar, you won't be able to participate in it.
2. Pantheon: This is an inter college fest held in alternate years wherein all the nearby colleges come and compete against each other. This is a much bigger fest where students from various colleges join for various sports and cultural events.
3. Parichay: This college is open for all the students including day scholars, several bands and DJ

The mess food of the hostel is very disgusting. Specially for North Indians its very difficult to survive. First of all the mess food charges is included in hostel fees only i.e. Rs. 1 Lacs per annum. But still they provide vegeterian only. And also they don't provide roti and dal too.
They serve meal three types . In morning most of the time its either idli or dosa or somedays puri which is very oily ofcourse . In afternoon you will get the basic lunch i.e rice, saambar, sabji and salad. And at night also same. Even they provide paneer also twice in a month. And the paneer is also not less than a hard rubber .

The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for BTech (Hons) in Industrial Engineering at IIT Kharagpur - Indian Institute of Technology for other than General category are - 2049 for OBC, 1189 for SC, 698 for ST, 885 for EWS, and 159 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For General category under All India, opening rank was 10304 and closing rank was 11592. Cut offs are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 19571 and 20790. Admission to BSc in Exploration Geophysics at IIT Kharagpur - Indian Institute of Technology is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE. Applicants are advised to confirm what category they are applying for while checking for cut offs.
