No, the National Aptitude Test for Architecture NATA is not necessary for an interior design course in India. NATA is an entrance examination for architecture courses, not for an interior design course. National Aptitude Test for Architecture Colleges offers architectural design in housing, regional, industrial, environmental, transport, landscape, and so on. However, if you want to do an interior design course, you have to write the CEPT, AIEED SEED UID, IIAD, NID, GD Goenka, Pearl Academy Entrance Exam, etc.

The question paper is a mix of creativity, general knowledge, and logical thinking. You need to be aware of the latest news and make it a habit to read the newspaper every day. After clearing that, you'll have to prepare for the studio test and the PI (personal interview). The studio test judges your material handling and creativity.
