It is possible for you to apply for a Bachelor's degree in Interior Designing in Canadian universities as a commerce student without math background, but it may depend on the specific requirements of the university and programme you are applying to. Yes, an architect is an interior designer but it does not work the other way around as Architects are more focused on the technical requirements, interior designers on the human psychology and emotional aspects of spaces.

An architect is trained in creating a structural building that meets national, state and local building codes. An interior designer is trained in creating a functional and quality interior environment. Architects are more focused on the technical requirements, interior designers on the human psychology and emotional aspects of spaces. Architect has a better pay.

The Gautam Buddha University offers admission to the B. Des. In Interior Design programme on the basis of a creative test followed by an interview and portfolio review.
1. Solve some NIFT questions from previous years to prepare for the creative test.
2. You need to be well versed in the math concepts up to the 12th grade level.
