International Maritime Institute Courses

The certificate programs are short at International Maritime Institute and will be of few weeks. They are intensive programmes that will help in fast improvement of skills and certification by maritime authorities.

IMI certificate programmes can be applied even by fresh maritime aspirants and also by the seafarer already in the industry. Each course has varying requirements of eligibility however most course requirements at least cover the aspects of basic education and medical fitness, and in some courses previous maritime experience.

International Maritime Institute conducts DG Shipping and IMO approved certificate course such as STCW Basic Safety Training, ECDIS, Oil Tanker Familiarization, and Security Awareness courses. These programmes assist seafarers to fulfill their required needs and operating skills in vessels.

International Maritime Institute does not provide any direct scholarships. Course fees at IMI can be quite high. If you have a good rank in the IMUCET (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test) and a decent board percentage, obtaining a loan is quite easy. But you must also explore other platforms that offer scholarships. International Maritime University in Chennai also offers scholarships. 

International Maritime Institute offers various courses approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping) and affiliated with the Indian Maritime University (IMU). Some of the best courses that are provided by IMI and that are capable of creating many career oppurtunities are B.Tech in Marine Engineering, Diploma in Nautical Science, Graduate Mechanical Engineer (Diploma in Marine Engineering) and related fields  provides a solid foundation for a rewarding career at sea.
