Even if the candidate clears the sectional and overall cutoff in IPMAT exam but does not get shortlisted for the PI round, it means that the candidate is eligible but not among the top-ranked candidates based on the composite score. Such a candidate will not be considered for admission to the IPM programme.
Such candidates can opt for reappearing for the exam next year, as there is no provision of re-evaluation. Candidates can also consider applying to other institutes which accept IPMAT Indore scores, such as NIRMA University, TAPMI, etc.

Every student who clears the IPMAT cutoff will get a call from the participating institutions, but will not be guaranteed admission. If they do not match the academic eligibility or IPMAT score they will not be given admission to the IPM programme. IIM Indore checks factors such as IPMAT score, number of seats, academic performance, GD/PI performance for admissions to IPM programme. Candidates with a good composite score stand a chance to get shortlisted for the PI round.

Students can prioritize Class 12 board exams as they are important for academic performance and admission to the IPMAT colleges.
Preparing for the board exams will build a strong foundation for the IPMAT exam preparation as well. No amount of prep can be enough if one does not have a good study plan. A well structured study plan which allocates time to IPMAT exam preparation as well as Class 12 board can be good for acing t
