dear namya. nit jalandhar is better then thapar.
because nit jalandhar is government college. u can afford it esaly. and nit jalandhar has good ranking. so my advice is nit jalandhar.

Lpu jalandhar is offering one year pgdbm diploma in distance education. will it be valid in place of mba or should i opt any other college

MBA is a two year course & the diploma you are mentioning will not be treated at par with MBA. It would be better if you try and pursue a full time MBA program

It would be a tough call to get NIT with this much score in JEE mains but you can wait for the counseling. However, I would suggest you to apply for some other colleges so that you are not in trouble at a later stage. You can check out LPU in Jalandhar offering best scholarship based on 12
