DAVIET, Dr. BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, St. Soldier Institute of engineering and technology are in Jalandhar Panjab University Swami Sarvanand Giri Regional Centre, Rayat Bahra Institute of Management in Hoshiyarpur.

Lovely Professional University and Punjab Technical University are two good options to do B.Tech aeronautical or aerospace engineering in the city of Jalandhar. You may refer to the list of India's top aeronautical engineering institutes at:

NIT's are some of best colleges in India. In case you cannot go for a higher rank NIT, then going for NIT Jalandhar is really good choice.

Of course NIT's are better as they are government institutions. Thapar University and VIT Vellore are private institutions. No doubt they have a good reputation specially VIT Vellore but I would suggest to go for NIT Jalandhar.

If he got the branch of his choice in any NIT's then only send him to NIT's, but as you said he got very good rank in VIT so he can get good branches there. Send him to VIT, Vellore, because as per the latest NIRF ranking VIT secures 13th position surpassing many IITs and NITs.

Yes, you can if your rank is under the required rank for this college.
