JBIMS is any day better than MICA in all aspects (brand name, placements, location, etc.) unless one has keen interest to make a career in the media and communications field.

Admissions for MBA institutes are done through MBA entrances. Many entrances are already done till now if you haven't appeared for any entrance try to appear for MBA-CET entrance. The forms are out and you can check it on DTE website. Make sure you appear for this exam if you want to do MBA.
Thanks.

Yes, you can apply for JBIMS or top 5 colleges through the CAP process conducted by DTE as long as you meet the required eligibility criteria. To check the details about eligibility criteria, please visit the below link:
http://fileserver.mkcl.org/MBA2017/OasisModules_Files/Files/187.pdf?.
Regarding your education gap, you will need to provide a gap certificate as per the prescribed format given by DTE or the institute in which you get admission. Also, your gap will not affect your placements if you are able to explain the reason behind your education gap.
All the Best!

For JBIMS, last year the cutoff for general category was 99.92 percentile. So chances are less on this front. You can check the cutoff of previous year's first cap round through the below link: http://fileserver.mkcl.org/mba2017/CAP-I/2017MBA_CAP1_CutOff.pdf?did=1765.
If you would like to check the cut-off of subsequent cap rounds, visit the below link: https://mba2017.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/StaticPages/HomePage.aspx.
If you are OMS (Other than Maharashtra state) candidate then your CET score will be considered for All India seats. The cutoff percentile for All India Seats is usually 99.99 percentile.
