LPU do not actually prescribe one fixed JEE Main rank for admission. For most B.Tech programs it's usually about meeting the eligibility criteria in Class 12 and then qualifying through either JEE Main or LPUNEST, like that. So you can apply without having a specific All India Rank in your pocket. That said, a stronger JEE Main percentile can still matter, because it helps with scholarships, and the most in-demand branches such as CSE might get filled faster based on demand. Therefore, if you meet the eligibility requirements, it's a good idea to put in your application as early as possible.

No, MAIET BTech admission is granted on JEE Main scores, and every student need to have a valid JEE Main score card. After qualifying entrance, candidates need to participate in REAP counselling. The selection of a student is based on rank, counselling performance, category, and seat availability in the college.

Yes, a JEE Main All India Rank (AIR) is required to qualify for the merit-based scholarships offered at Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College (AKGEC) for B.Tech students.
The college provides tuition fee waivers based on specific rank brackets in the JEE Main examination. These scholarships are applicable for all four years of the B.Tech program, provided the student maintains the required academic and attendance standards.
AKGEC B.Tech Merit Scholarship Criteria (2026-27)
The scholarship amount is a percentage of the tuition fee, determined by your All India Rank:
| AIR in JEE Main | Scholarship Amount (Tuition Fee Waiver) |
| 1 – 10,000 | 100% Waiver |
| 10,001 – 15,000 | 75% Waiver |
| 15,001 – 20,000 | 50% Waiver |
| 20,001 – 25,000 | 25% Waiver |
