Normally, it is much higher in cases of streams like Computer Science and Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering. The admission to under graduate level courses in B.E./B.Tech in the Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College is done in two modes, that is one the basis of WBJEE-West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination and JEE Mains. The eligibility conditions for candidates are that one must pass Class 12 with a minimum of 45 percent aggregate marks (for reserved candidates 40%) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. However, at postgraduate or M.Tech level candidates must hold a relevant qualification in B.E./B. Tech and be qualified in the GATE exam.
