Admission to B.E./B.Tech at Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College requires:

 

10+2 Science 45% marks in aggregate for gen, 40% marks in aggregate for SC/ST student with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ Biology. The rank score obtained in WBJEE or JEE Main are considered. Age: 17-25 years but relaxed for SC/ST/OBC candidates. The domicile holders of West Bengal (50% of seats are reserved). Tuition fees: INR 9,500/year. Intake: 360 seats across 6 branches. Reservation: SC – 22%, ST – 6%, OBC – 17, PH – 3%. Application fee: INR 500. Admission timeline: March-July.

For B.E./B.Tech admission at Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College (JGEC), eligibility criteria are:

10+2 science, minimum 45% (40% For sc/St)

Physics/ Mathematics/Chemistry/Computer/ Biology should be as compulsory subjects

Students with WBJEE or JEE Main ranking preferred

- Age: 18-27 years (age relaxation also applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates).

- Domicile: Non-Resident of West Bengal (Remaining 50% seats available)

- Tuition fees: INR 9,500/year (approx.)

Admission intake: 360 seats across 6 branches.

Reservation:

- SC: 22%

- ST: 6%

- OBC: 17%

Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College is quite recognized, and by the IIRF 2024, JGEC stands at position 159. It was set up in 1961 and currently provides B.Tech., B.Tech lateral and M.Tech. in 6 disciplines and 360 students intake . The colleges have placed its students pretty well in the market; as in, the year 2019, 80% of the students were placed. This sector is represented by such companies as TCS, Bosch, Capgemini, and Infosys as top recruiters. Of the total human resources, 20 are PhD holders and 31 PG degree holders .
