The entrance test is based on the courses of study and syllabus of the 12th class.
As per the marking scheme of JKCET, 1 marks is awarded for each correct answer and for ecach wrong answer, 0.25 marks is deducted. Each 3 section of the question paper has 60 questions and has mamximum 60 marks. Maximum marks is thus 180.

JKCET will have questions from Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates can download the syllabus from the official website for preparation.

The minimum marks to qualify in the JKCET exam is 10. A candidate having scored less than 10 marks on the entrance test shall not be considered for admission.

JKCET is held annually, that is once a year. Jammu and KashmirCommon Entrance Test (JKCET) is a pen and paper based state level entrance exam. The exam is conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) to fill up the UG engineering seats offered in various government and private institutes in J&K.

The schedule for JKCET 2026 counselling has been announced. The first round counselling was held from May 25 to 28 and the round counselling from June 12 to 15. For more details, candidates must check the JKCET portal or Shiksha page.
