No, you will not be able to get B.Tech CSE branch at MIET or GCET with 404 rank in JKCET exam because it will be competitive for CSE branch but you can go to other branches like mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering or electronic and communication engineering at MIET or GCET.

Other good college options are Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBUET) and Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology (SCET) , Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering.

The last date to apply for JKCET 2025 has been extneded to March 29. To apply candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as compulsory subjects having 45% marks taken together for Open Merit Category candidates, including EWS category and 40% marks for the reserved category candidates belonging to SC/ST-i/ST-ii/ RBA/ALC/IB/OBC. Also, candidates should be a Domicile of UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh. The candidates appearing/appeared in the qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply and appear in JKCET 2025.

If we look at the entrance exams required for BTech admission at Kashmir University, we will see that the university takes its BTech admission through the JEE Main and the JKCET entrance exam. Candidates who want to apply through the JKCET entrance exam should look to take admission in SSM College of Engineering, as other colleges take BTech admission through the JEE Main score.

The JKCET application form will be made available by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) on June 5. Registration for JKCET 2024 will be open till June 19. The JKCET counselling process is given below:

  • Registration: Candidates will initially be required to enter the requisite/mandatory details for registration and obtain the password for subsequent login into the website. After login, candidates can view their Personal Details and CET Score by clicking on Personal Profile.
