Both courses are at par as far placements are concerned. IB is more oriented towards the global scenario, and that reflects in the subjects. In core, you have 4 specializations available (Marketing, Finance, Operations, HR) while in IB you have 2 (Marketing and Finance). Therefore, which course you want depends on your interests.

The chances are slim, though you might have a chance of getting in to Communications after wait list movement. I suggest you get yourself wait listed for Communications and RM, if you're interested in marketing as a specialization.

The Marketing Communications course, while giving you a thorough foundation in all marketing related subjects (including Business Research, Stats etc.), is more oriented towards Advertising, Digital Marketing etc., which are among the fastest growing fields in marketing. Moreover, the course has a lot of practical components to it, like video shooting, editing etc. All these things will add invaluable experience to you if you are interested in advertising, or even sales. The placements for the course have been very good this year, on par with all other courses. If you are interested in marketing, I would suggest you go for it.

The counselling sessions will start on the 21st of April. Refer to the pdf available on your results page for details regarding the same. You will have to come according to your ranks.

You can choose to get wait listed for RM and Communications. But chances through counselling are slim for any course.

Your chances are very slim, even after waitlist movement. However, I suggest you attend counseling and get yourself wautlisted for FS.
