you can get private colleges but if you think to have more no. of colleges and universities you can check for JOSAA site and check out the last year opening and closing of CSE ranks and get the approximate overview that which is best suited college.

Practice is really the key. Another tip is to start with the hardest part for you and practice everyday. For me it was writing. I wrote one essay every day, I got familiar with all the possible question types.
