Candidates are guided through the process of finding an internship by the GIBS Business School in Bangalore (India): The School of Youth Leadership (SoYL) is a programme that helps students improve their leadership skills, gain self-confidence, and improve their decision-making ability. The Certification Programme in Personal Mastery (CPMP) is a major component of both the PGDM and BBA courses at the GIBS Business School. This course is focused on both the development of effective oral and written communication skills, self-confidence, the ability to work well with other people, and successful leadership in the workplace. As part of the course, students will learn about emotional intelligence and how it relates to their ability to lead others. There are a number of Leadership Development Programs that utilize real-life business situations to give students experience leading.

Some examples of these experiential leadership development programs include:

1. Business Mastery Program (BMP): Students are exposed to real-life business experiences in the form of business projects, company speakers, visits to companies, and learning through the use of case studies.
2. GIBS IRE Talks: The GIBS School hosts regular leadership talks by industry leaders, founders, and global thought leaders to discuss various leadership topics and share personal experiences with students.
3. Webinars and Panels: National and international leaders and experts in various areas of business and leadership will participate in webinars and panel discussions and share their opinions on important issues and trends in business and leadership. This allows students to broaden their knowledge and develop a more global perspective.
4. Value-Added Programs and Subject Matter Expert Sessions: These programs will assist students in developing new leadership skills that are currently in high demand by employers.

Finally, the Skills Mastery Program is a weekly programme dedicated to developing the interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills of students through personal development training. Through this program, students are assigned a mentor who will provide them with guidance and assistance in finding an internship.

The campus of GIBS Mind Valley stretches over 10 acres of beautiful green land and provides a tranquil and refreshing atmosphere for students to decompress, concentrate, and have an enjoyable college experience each day. Being surrounded by ample green space and nature makes it convenient for students to relax between their periods of classes and gives them a break from both city noises and academic pressure. Furthermore, walking paths, grassy lawns and nature can help ease tension, enhance concentration, and boost overall mental health. The layout of the campus is open and promotes students to be outdoors with their friends, brainstorm or just relax after a busy day. In addition, the fresh air and quiet surroundings make it easier for students to concentrate during classes as well as while studying alone. Lastly, the facilities of the campus create an overall conducive environment for balanced college life through various community events, activities, and social skills in a pleasant and inviting environment. The GIBS Faculty incorporates significant industry relevance in the classroom by utilizing real business experience with academic theory. Most faculty members have worked in corporate or consultancy roles prior to joining GIBS, allowing them to frequently use current business examples (both live and case studies), current business practices, and demonstrate industry trends in class. Classes typically have a combination of simulations, role play, live-case projects, and corporate assignments from real-world businesses. Additionally, the Faculty has a regular practice of hosting guest speakers from industry, alumni, and/or CXO's to provide students with an understanding of the practical challenges of working in a business environment beyond their textbook studies. Faculty also work closely with their students through mentoring, providing guidance for work experience, and providing project feedback to ensure all students are prepared for new jobs and can successfully apply their classroom knowledge to real-world business situations upon graduation.

GIBS collaborates with multiple businesses to provide students with real-world experience through live projects and corporate assignments based on challenging situations in the workplace. These assignments may encompass market research studies, sales and marketing initiatives, digital marketing projects, HR recruitment and training assignments, financial analysis, business analytics, and operational improvement projects. Students will also participate in activities such as brand awareness efforts, conducting customer surveys, analyzing data, developing a business strategy, and providing startup consulting services under the supervision of faculty members and industry experts. By having access to hands-on learning, students gain an understanding of how an organisation functions, develop their problem-solving capabilities, and gain confidence for their forthcoming professional experiences, both internships and final placements.
