Firstly you have to satisfy minimum eligibility criteria that is 55% marks in BSc or qualifying degree and 50 % marks in qualifying exam.
Then cutoff will depend on factors like number of candidates appeared in exam and difficulty level of exam.

In the absence of proper information, it is difficult for me to predict accurate college. But, if you belong to Karnataka or Tamil Nadu state then in that case you will apply to colleges with the help of your state quota for this, and maybe you will also get a government college. Mysore university in karnataka is public state University which offers Msc in chemistry through entrance only. Maximum marks in entrance is 50. If you score more than 30, you can get admission. If you score around 25, you may get admission in second allotment
