To join KEC students must meet the eligibility criterias set by the Tamil Nadu government as well as the college itself. Admissions mostly take place based on the scores of last qualifying examination such as HSC (10+2) and for postgraduate programmes they may also consider TANCET scores.

Kavery Engineering College selects students based on their marks in the last qualifying examination.Candidates must have passed their 10+2 with minimum 45% in subjects like physics, chemistry, mathematics. This college participates in the TNEA counselling and selects students based on their marks in that exam.Else they also consider class 12th marks.

Kavery Engineering College does provide scholarships to its students who have scored well in the qualifying examination.These are determined by the college committee.

• For B.Tech - If marks are above 65% in fields like AI or data science, students can receive a scholarship upto INR 25000. Lateral entry students get a concession of INR 5000 per year.
• MBA and MCA - These students get a 20% concession if marks are above 60%

Also, AICTE provides a tuition fee waiver to students of this college if their annual household income is less than INR 8 lakhs.
