The KIITEE Law counselling process involves several key steps. First, candidates must log in to the official KIITEE portal and complete online registration. Next, they must fill in and lock their course and campus preferences. Based on the candidate's KIITEE rank, seat availability, and preferences, a provisional seat allotment is released. Selected candidates must then pay the counselling fee (usually INR 75,000) and report to the designated KIIT centre for document verification. The KIITEE Law counselling process is primarily online, but includes an offline component for document verification:
- Online Choice Filling: After results, log into the KIITEE portal to register, fill and lock course/campus preferences, and submit scanned document, this is done entirely online
- Seat Allotment: The system assigns seats based on merit and your choices.
- Offline Document Verification & Fee Payment: Shortlisted candidates must report to the designated counselling centre, carry original documents, and pay fee (INR 75,000 DD) in person
The process works online-first, with a mandatory offline visit to finalise admission.

KIITEE Law counselling is typically conducted in multiple rounds/phases until all seats are filled. In KIITEE Law 2025, the university organised three phases of counselling as long as vacancies remained. The process is online—each phase includes registration, choice filling (with preference locking), provisional seat allotment, fee payment, and document verification. After Phase I, candidates who weren't allotted seats or wish to upgrade can participate in subsequent rounds, typically up to three . In summary, expect up to three online counselling rounds for KIITEE Law, concluding once all seats are allocated.

Here's how seat allotment works in KIITEE Law counselling:
- After results, complete online registration and choice filling on the KIIT portal. You have to lock your preferences; i.e. branches, campuses, and courses
- Seat allotment is based on merit rank, available seats, reservation criteria, and your filled choices
- A provisional allotment list is published on the portal. Check it using your application number and DOB
- Verify original documents and then confirm your admission by paying the required fee (INR 75,000 in draft)
- Final allotment is confirmed after document verification and fee payment
Seats are allocated purely on merit-based choices
