Yes, one can become a judge even if they didn’t complete their law degree from one of the NLUs. To become a judge, it doesn’t matter which institute one gets the degree from. What matters is the efforts they put in the preparation for the exam and if they can crack it. Interested students can check the below table to know the basic requirements to be fulfilled to become a Judge:

VELS University follows the reservation guidelines as per government norms. The university reserves a total of 22% of the seats for SC/ST category candidates. For students belonging to the other categories, such as the EWS and PWDs, the university does not have any seat reservation policy. However, it extends its support via scholarships and fee waivers.
Students who have already participated in interstate and interuniversity sports and games competitions are selected under the Sports Quota and are offered free education, including boarding and lodging.

As per the official website of VELS University, over 3,000 students enroll for placements every year, of which 90% got placed successfully. The the highest and average packages offered during the recent placements stood at INR 8 LPA and INR 5 LPA, respectively.
Other than this, some of the top recruiters of who participated during recent years placements included TCS, Microsoft, Infosys, Accenture, Oracle, Cisco, etc.

As per the NIRF report 2023 of Faculty of Law BHU, the total LLM students placed were 12. The total candidates who took part in the placements drive were 69. Moreover, the median package offered during the placements was INR 10 LPA. Apart from university placements, graduates can also find opportunities outside the university placements cell.

No, VELS University LLM admissions are purely entry-based. For LLM admissions, the university conducts its entrance examination, namely VELS Entrance Examination (VEE). Thus, students seeking admission to this programme must register and appear for the aforementioned exam. Based on these scores, students are ranked and allocated a seat.
