Most of the B schools abroad prefer the candidates who are having good work experience. It will be an add on to your programme if you have good work experience. So, 2-3 or 3-5 years of work experience will be good to pursue MBA from top universities. By having work experience you will be able to know in which areas you are interested and you can choose the specializations accordingly.

You have to give the GMAT exam first and then based on your score in GMAT it decides whether you are eligible for LBS or not. For every University there is an eligibility criteria like GMAT score, average work experience and after that it depends on the applicants the universities has received. Based on this the universities will offer the seat.
