Indian students don't always need to take an entrance exam, it depends on the qualifications. UG Students whose HSC is not directly equivalent to the German Abitur, will have to pass an assessment test at a preparatory course (Studienkolleg).

Some PG programs such as Cell and Molecular Biology, Epidemiology, Psychology, and Arts have strict aptitude, interview, or written entrance exam requirements.

Yes, Indian students need to take the Studienkolleg (preparatory course) if their high-school certificate is not equivalent to a German high-school leaving certificate (Abitur).

For direct entry, students need to pass the Feststellungsprufung (final exam for Indian students at German preparatory college).

Yes, students can study at LMU Munich without learning German. There are several English-taught courses that only require valid scores in English language tests such as IELTS or TOEFL.

Having a basic understanding of German is advised to Indian students as it can boost the chances of getting part-time jobs in Germany.
