There is not much between them in terms of national level rankings as TUM ranks #1 in Germany while Ludwig Maximilian Uni ranks #2.

TUM is generally better for Indian students seeking a career in engineering, technology, and robotics. LMU Munich is usually better for Medicine, Humanities, Law, and Social Sciences.

Generally, Ludwig Maximilian University does not have any tuition fee for international students which would mean that the scholarships offered here cover components like travel, living expenses and other general costs.

The tuition fee for Indian students at Ludwig is the semester fee only and this ranges between EUR 100 to EUR 300 (INR 10.9K to INR 32.8K). And, the living expenses maybe anywhere around EUR 650 (INR 71.1K).

Yes, the research experience, work experience and publications may be considered highly valuable for Indian students for them to be considered for the LMU scholarships.

The given factors can definitely improve one's chances of getting in but the academics of a student is the most important criterion.

For courses like a PhD, the research experience can be highly significant
