After pursuing MA in Journalism and Communication, you can also apply for various competitive and entrance exams.
I would like to suggest, you appear for UGC NET Exam. As this is one of the best tests through which you can pursue your career as a researcher or teacher.

Distance won't be a good idea in my opinion. Some things require practical knowledge and exposure and you should go through it to achieve the perfection. This will also help you in your future jobs when you will gain more skills. So, rather go for regular.
