First of all, you need to know what qualifications you are required to have in order to become a nurse. B.Sc or M.Sc in the field of nursing is required become a nurse. Having a M.Sc degree in chemistry is not enough to be called as a nurse, you need to enroll for B.Sc in nursing course to be eligible for nursing. As per your qualifications, you can make a career in the field of chemistry but not nursing.

If you miss the VIT counselling process for M.Sc. Chemistry, it is unlikely that the seats will be allotted to you automatically. Most colleges, including VIT, follow a strict counseling and admission schedule, and missing the process may result in losing the opportunity for that particular year.
However, it's always a good idea to contact the VIT admissions office directly to inquire about any possible alternative options, such as late counseling or waitlist procedures, if available.

Admission is usually based on a bachelor's degree with minimum percentage in the case of most colleges, close to 50%, and would include qualifying exams like the DAT or CEED Common Entrance Examination for Design). For pursuing an M.Sc. in another says top NITs such as Trichy & Rourkela outshine in Chemistry as a newer institute of IIT. Especially, NIT Trichy is one of the reputed institutes for its chemistry program, experienced faculty, and decent placement opportunities. You have AIR 790 in EWS category, the chances of get admission in this established NITs are higher, go ahead.
