No, a tech background is not strictly mandatory for admission to the MS in Computer Science programme at Stony Brook University. However, students with a Computer Science background or related degrees are preferred for the course. Applicants with exceptional promise who lack CS preparation in one or more core areas may be admitted to the programme but will be required to take additional CS courses as specified in their offer letter.

Yes, a GRE score is mandatory for international students to get into the MS Computer Science programme at Stony Brook University. However, the GRE is optional for all Ph.D. applicants and domestic M.S. applicants. This makes sure that international candidates showcase a certain level of academic preparedness, while domestic students have more flexibility in their application process.

There are no GRE requirements to apply for the Master of Computer Science programme at The University of Melbourne. Requirements do include:
An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent, along with a minimum overall average mark of H2A (75%).
At least 25 points of university-level mathematics or statistics subjects.
