To get admission to integrated BTech-MTech Civil Structural Engineering course at popular Indian colleges, you must secure at least 50 to 60% marks in Class 12 in the PCM subjects, which may vary on the basis of the academic institution. For example, the IITs require at least 75% in Class 12 for admission to UG-level courses. For reserved category candidates, the marks eligibility requirement is usually relaxed by 5%.
Further, you have to appear for exams like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, or other state/university-level exams. You must secure a good rank in the entrance exam as it serves as the final call for admission.

To get admission to M.Tech in Structural Engineering course at the IITs, you must secure at least 60% marks in your bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. For reserved category candidates, the marks eligibility requirement is usually 55% in graduation. Further, you have to appear for the GATE exam. You must secure a good rank in GATE 2025 to be considered for admission.
After you successfully secure a decent rank in the GATE exam, you will have to appear for the COAP counselling process where you will be allotted a seat according to your rank at one of the IIT branches in India.

The admission to M.Tech at IIT Madras is entirely based on GATE scores. Hence, aspirants must meet eligibility requirements and have valid score of GATE. However, MS candidates can apply without the entrance score. Aspirants who have completed a BTech degree from one of the IITs with a CGPA of 8.0 and above can apply without a GATE score for MS.

Yes, SRM accepts admission in M.Tech without GATE entrance examination, however, instead of GATE, one needs to appear in the SRMJEE (PG) examination for pursuing M.Tech in SRM Kattankulathur and TANCET or SRMJEE (PG) examination for SRM Ramapuram. You can choose between both the examination, depending upon your choice of campus and exam.
Candidates must have scored atleast 50 percent aggregate in their bachelor's degree with mathematics and physics as compulsary subjects.
Admissions are accepted through online mode only.
