To get a M.Tech seat at NIT Uttarakhand, students must follow the below-mentioned steps:

1. Check the eligibility criteria. Only those who meet the eligibility criteria are considered for the selection process.

2. If eligible, apply for the GATE exam.

3. After the exam results, participate in the CCMT counselling process.

4. If allocated a seat, report to the institute for verification of documents.

NIT Uttarakhand offers a wide array of specialisations under its M.Tech programme. Some of the specialisations are Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and more. Out of all, the highest number of seats (19) are offered under M.Tech in Microelectronics and VLSI Design, M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence, and M.Tech in Power Electronics and Drives.

A total of 86 seats are offered under the NIT Uttarakhand M.Tech programme. These seats are distributed across various specialisations offered under this course. Listed below is the specialisation wise distribution of M.Tech seats:

• MTech in Microelectronics and VLSI Design: 19
• MTech in Artificial Intelligence: 19
• MTech in Transportation Engineering: 9

Candidates who are willing to take admission to non- sponsored NIT Uttarakhand M.Tech seat must apply and appear for the GATE exam. The list below details the application process

1. Open the GATE 2025 registration portal.
2.  Register as a new candidate. Generate login credentials.
3. Fill out the application form and pay the application fee, INR 1,800 for general and INR 900 for female/Sc/ST/PWD. 

Once the NIT Uttarakhand M.Tech seat allocation process is completed, selected candidates must present original and self-attested photocopies of documents for verification purposes at the institute. Such candidates are required to bring along the following documents:

• Class 12 marksheet
• Migration certificate
• UG marksheets
• UG degree
• School leaving certificate/transfer certificate
• Category certificate (if applicable)

Offering specialisations as per the programme, NIT Puducherry has few selective seats for M.Tech programmes, usually 18 to 30 seats per specialization. The seats available may differ based on the popularity of the course, production capacity, and the policy of the institute for that particular academic year. There can be a whole lot of specializations offered for MTechs by NIT Puducherry, and each one might have a different number of seats.

NIT Uttarkhand accepts valid GATE exam scores for M.Tech admissions. As per official sources, the GATE exam date for the 2025 session is out. The exam was scheduled to be held from Feb 1 to Feb 16, 2025. To register, the students can visit the official GATE website.

Candidates willing to get admitted to M.Tech courses at NIT Uttarakhand must fulfill the basic requirements. Failure to fulfill can lead to rejection during the application stage. Tabulated below is the eligibility criteria:
