Hi Faizan, VIT Pune has a good placement record for Mechanical Engineering. Also, the professors are highly qualified. Their projects are quite good and qualitative. MITsoe is also a good college at its place. As I did my graduation from VIT, I elaborated about it. I hope this helps. All the Best!

I don't know much about Sanjay Ghodawat University but MIT-Pune (now MITWPU) has a quite a reputation in Pune and 8s considered to be one of the top colleges in Pune. MIT-Pune has a well-experienced faculty with excellent laboratories. There are dozens of clubs and engineering teams which compete on national as well as national level. At last, it is the only college in India to inculcate yoga and peace studies in its curriculum for the complete personality development of its students. I think you should take the seat and pursue it in spite of taking a year drop. Every single academic year is very important, so don't take risk of taking a drop. Second thing, it will be a quite better option than Nirma University. Do anything but don't go for a drop.

If you got a seat, it's better for you to pursue than taking a drop, as at the time of placements or when you go for higher education, these 1 year drops add up as a bad impression.

If this rank belongs to MHT-CET then you are eligible here for B.Tech programs. So, participate in MITWPU counselling programme for seat allotment.

I am sorry but you first need to pass your 1st year then only you can get admission in second year unless you have done some Polytechnic then only you can get admission as a lateral student in second year. So my suggestion to you is don't worry if you thought you can do it now then just go for it's never too late start from the basics.
