The Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) University of Mumbai offers a BCom degree through distance/correspondence education. At the undergraduate level, the university follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) semester pattern for BCom courses, which is divided into six semesters. The IDOL University Mumbai provides scholarships to BCom students using seat reservation policies mandated by the Indian government. RAJIV GANDHI NATIONAL FELLOWSHIP SCHEME, sponsored by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India, is also available for students from SC/ST categories to explore further opportunities.

The total duration of BA is three-years. The criteria to get admission in BA course is in which a student will be assess on their Class 12 score (merit-based). The first year is common for both BA and BA (Hons) course. The students can opt for degree with hons. programme in the second year to following eligibility conditions i.e., aggregate of 60% at first year of BA.

The fee for BCom courses at IDOL University Mumbai ranges from INR 16,300 to INR 30,100. IDOL University provides two specialisations for the BCom programme, such as BCom in Accounts or Management Group and BCom in Accounts and Finance. On the other hand, the fee range for the IGNOU BCom course is INR 8100 to INR 12,600. IGNOU University offers four specialisations for the BCom programme, including Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), BCom in Accountancy and Finance, Online Bachelor of Commerce (BCOMOL), and Integrated B.Com. + B.Ed. in Special Education.
