The basic eligibility for most of the colleges is to have at least 60% marks in the PCM subjects in Class 12 and a score of 50% in English. Also, medical fitness is an important part of the eligibility for this course. You should be in the best of your health and have good eye vision without any issue of color blindness as per the rules of the maritime industry.
You will have to present a fitness certificate at the time of admission and may have to give a medical test before your admission is confirmed.

The general eligibility requirements for UG and PG courses in Marine Engineering colleges in India is given here. Take a look -

Course LevelEligibility Criteria
Undergraduate
  • At the UG level, candidates must have successfully passed their senior secondary examination or its equivalent with at least 60 percent marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).
  •  They should also have secured a minimum 50 percent marks in English either in Class X or Class XII. 
  • A minimum and a maximum age limit may or may not be a requirement by some Marine Engineering institutes.

Postgraduate
  • Aspirants must have passed their 10+2 examination from a recognised school.
  • Candidates must have completed their graduation with BE/BTech in Mechanical/Marine Engineering from a recognised university and should have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in their Bachelor studies
