The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for BTech in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at IIT Madras - Indian Institute of Technology other than General category are - 3287 for OBC, 1796 for SC, 901 for ST and 1373 for EWS. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

It depends on Institute where you study.
If you study in top notch Institutes like IMS Goa, MERI, Tolani etc., you will get placed.
In many other institutions, it's really hard.
You'll also get placed if you study in Institutes like Anglo eastern maritime academy, Samundra institute of maritime studies etc. also as they are run by shipping companies who have their Ships and they place the students on their ships. The best shot is Anglo eastern maritime academy. Getting incide AEMA is like a rat race. The competition is so hard.
On the other side, if you study in other Colleges, it's really hard to get placed as there are already plenty of

ForB.Techin Marine engineering, a candidate must be physically fit and should meet the medical requirements . 3-Year B.Sc (Maritime Science) 10+2/equivalent (PCM-60% and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th Examination.) Is also required. English marks are to be 50% or more in anyone of the above examinations. These are necessary forB.Techin Marine engineering in IMU KOLKATA.

Yes, B.Techin Marine engineering (Lateral Entry) is offered by IMU - IMU Kolkata Indian Maritime University. Seperate exam for Lareral Entry is conducted in IMUCET every year and one need to haveDiplomain mechanical engineering to get admission as Lateral Entry inB.TechMarine Engineering.

The fees forB.Techin Marine engineering (Lateral Entry) at IMU-IMU Kolkata Indian Maritime University remains the same as regular course i.e. Rs.1,25,000 for semester 3, 5, 7 and Rs 1,00,000 for semester 4,6,8. The lateral entry cadets directly enters in semester 3 on admission so they are exempted from 1st year and it's fees.
