Yes, one can pursue Journalism post class 12th. To be a journalist, in any language, one needs to be good with communication skills, written, spoken and comprehension. It is imperative to be updated on current affairs and carry an aptitude for storytelling, whether visual or textual. Since you have done fashion designing Diploma, you may opt for BAJMC and specialise in lifestyle and Art Journalism, which some Universities like Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal offer. The world needs good well informed and unbiased journalists. A good degree and passion opens up exciting career goals in Journalism.

I would be keen to know what you mean by computer line? Computer line can mean hardware or software, it can mean Design, Computer Science and engineering and Graphics as well as AI and New media. Would be keen to know what you feel interests you.

Think twice, I would say, At present, India has much greater need of competent engineers than good journalists, However, if you insist, you can get yourself admitted to the IIMC or any good institutions for the requisite skill and knowledge to be a successful journalist, Watch out for the IIMC website during December and January for all details about the admission process.

Absolutely. The shift from state owned media to independent media created a seismic shift in the relationship between the political establishment and the news. Today, with social media, that shift is even more apparent. Politicians are being held much more accountable and policies are being critiqued from many different perspectives.

We haven't had a graduating batch yet but our students have already interned with top media houses including HIndustan Times, Times of India, CNN-News18, NDTV, BBC and many others. We expect many of them to visit for recruitment when our first batch graduates.

Journalism includes different mediums - print, broadcast, radio, online. Each medium comes with a different set of skill requirements. Print has reporters, copy editors, sub editors, photographers, designers. Broadcast has anchors, reporters, production crew, video editors, camera crew, graphic designers. Radio has RJs, reporters, radio engineers, producers. Online usually has a combination of all of the above because it's multimedia.
