Δ = 0

| 1 1 1 2 5 α 1 2 3 | = 0

15 - 2a + a - 6 – 1 = 0

a = 8

For a = 8, equations are

x + y + 3 = 6

2x + 5y + 8z = b

x + 2y + 3z = 14

( 2 , 5 , 8 ) = l ( 1 , 1 , 1 ) + m ( 1 , 2 , 3 )

2 = l + m 5 = l + 2 m ] 3 = m , l = 1

8 =  l+3m

β = 6 l + 1 4 m

= -6 + 42 = 36

a + b = 8 + 36 = 44

System of equation can be written as

(23513131λ2|λ|) (xyz)= (91816)

for no solution

910 (λ2|λ|+3)7=0

9λ29|λ|43=0

|λ|=9+81+36*4318>0

 only two possible value of λ are there.

 a* (b*c)=3bc=u

b* (c*a)=c2a=v

c* (b*a)=3b2a=w

u+v=w

so vectors

u, vandw

are coplanar, hence their Scalar triple product will be zero.
