Hello Sunil, you can pursue M.Sc. In Statistics at Aligarh Muslim University of Calicut based on your degree merit, To pursue M.Sc. In Statistics the candidate must have a B.Sc. Degree in Statistics or Mathematics or any equivalent degree in Statistics with Computer Applications. Certain universities would also have a cutoff percentage for students to be eligible to apply. These cutoffs can be overall or sectional such as a minimum % in Mathematics can be a cutoff for some institutes, irrespective of the cumulative score. Additionally, few universities also take an entrance exam. Students are selected based on their academic records, written exam and Personal Interview . The written exam generally comprises two sections - Objective type and Descriptive type. The syllabus involves basic Statistics Probability theory, and computer fundamentals. The basic expectation from candidates is to possess numerical and analytical skills, the ability to work with numbers comfortably, analysis of trends and patterns, use Statistics to gather information from complex data and assess the results to infer causes of problems or recommend ideas to solve those problems or both.
