If your college or university has a provision of awarding graduation B.Sc degree on completion of 3rd year then you are eligible for appearing in CAT now. However, if you are awarded integrated M.Sc degree only then you are eligible for CAT in final year of degree.

Preparing for CAT exam is not an easy thing. You need to concentrate on each section of the exam by practicing some daily activities. For English, you are required to read a lot of stuff and should be able to understand different articles. Quant is full of practice of different topics and mock test is the only way to test your quant skills. Reasoning requires your logic and this can be improved by solving puzzles to improve your logic. The time required totally depends on your dedication.

Hi Ananthu,
There are 4 sections in CAT exam i.e. quantitative aptitude, verbal ability, logical & analytical reasoning and data interpretation. It is always advisable to join a coaching that prepares students to crack CAT exam with high percentile and they also gives you study materials and take exams for better preparation of yours. As you are a 2nd year engineering student and I guess that it is the best time for you to start your preparation in order to score higher percentile in exam. Good luck!
