No, to get admission into IBS Kolkata MBA candidates have to either appear for entrance exams, such as CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ NMAT, and apply through their entrance score or apply for admission through the IBSAT entrance exam conducted by ICFAI Business School (IBS).

Admission into the MBA at IBS Kolkata takes place through micro-presentations and personal interviews conducted as part of the selection process. Hence, there are no direct admissions into IBS Kolkata and all admissions in the MBA programme take place through a series of selection rounds.

Whether an MSc (Master of Science) or MBA (Master of Business Administration) is better depends on your career goals and interests:
MSc is a good choice if you want to specialise in a technical or specialized field. MSc programs are focused on details and can help you develop specialized skills and knowledge in a particular area. For example, you could specialize in finance, accounting, risk management, or business analytics. MSc graduates often work in roles like Head of Department, Director of Marketing, or CFO.

An MBA is a good choice if you want to advance your career in management and executive roles. MBA programs are more gene

The IBS Kolkata MBA programme has a tuition fee of INR 9.11 lakh. Comparing it to the placement figures of 2024, the MBA programme secured an average salary of INR 6.7 LPA. Even if a student is placed in the top 10% of salary packages, still the average salary package is around INR 8.77 LPA.

This means that the placements round isn’t able to fully recover the tuition fees of the programme. Candidates can either opt for job options or pursue DBA (Doctor of Business Administration).
The DBA and PhD in Business Administration are similar in that they both signify the pinnacle of academic success in the area while the DBA is more focused on the professional and practical aspects of things.
Unlike a PhD which emphasizes academic study and theory, the DBA is predominantly practice-oriented. Senior executives, company leaders and professionals who wish to apply cutting-edge business knowledge and research to actual practical issues are the target audience for this program.

Good Luck!
