The PGDM in IT admission process at MIT School of Distance Education is merit-based and online. The candidate must have completed graduation from a known university. The process is:

Application: Fill up the online application form found on the official website.

Document Submission: Scan copies of documents required, e.g., graduation mark sheets and photographs, and upload self-attested.

Selection: Shortlisting of applications is done based on merit obtained in academics.

Confirmation: Admission offers are communicated by email and the applicant must make payment of the course fee to secure their place.

This is an open and easy procedure to applicants.

MBA aspirants must submit one LOR, preferably from a professional contact such as a manager or supervisor. A candidate's recommender must be able to answer the following questions:

• How long and in what capacity have you known the applicant?
• How does the applicant stand out from others in a similar capacity?
• Give an example of the applicant's impact on a person, group, or organization.
• Give a representative example of how the applicant interacts with other people.
• Anything else the recommender thinks the AdCom should know about this applicant.
• Describe the most important piece of constructive feedback you have given the applicant. Please detail the circumstances and the applicant's response.

Note: Applicants may two additional professional references to put forward their strengths.

Securing admission to MIT Sloan School of Management for MBA is extremely competitive, but not impossible. Mentioned below in detail are the entry requirements:

Degree Requirements: Applicants must hold a four-year undergraduate degree or three-year equivalent undergraduate degree

Cover Letter (at most 300 words): Students must submit a cover letter, including one or more professional examples and illustrate why and how they meet the desired criteria to study MBA at MIT.

Resume: Applicants must submit a one-page resume, following the format: one-page limit, Times New Roman font in size, word or PDF formats only.

An organizational chart must not exceed two pages and make sure that it clearly states the internal structure of the organization, where the candidates sit in their organization, and their line of reporting.

Note: Candidates may circle their role in red so that their position is easily identifiable.

Academic Transcripts: Applicants scan and upload their transcript (s) from all colleges and universities they have attended or are currently attending.

Note: If a candidate's transcripts are not in English, they must scan and upload both the original and the certified English translation.

Test Scores: GMAT (Focus Edition and 10th Edition) and GRE are a crucial component of the application process and play an important role in the university's holistic evaluation process. Applicants must submit the official scores and they must be valid by the application deadline.

Relevant Coursework & Professional Certifications: MIT welcomes applicants from many types of academic backgrounds and do not have any academic prerequisites. If a candidate has earned any special certifications such as CFA, CPA, ACCA or took professional development courses, they must mention it.

Short Answer Question: In 250 words, applicants must respond to the following short answer question:

How has the world you come from shaped who you are today? For example, your family, culture, community, all help to shape aspects of your life experiences and perspective. Please use this opportunity to share more about your background.

Interview: Based on the application, an interview is an invitation for the advanced stage of academic consideration. However, it does not guarantee admission. Candidates who have been invited to the interview will be asked to respond to two additional questions prior to the interview.
