The lateral entry for the course is granted by the university and it lays down the rules regarding the lateral entry is laid by it. If you are seeking admission in GGSIPU under lateral entry please go through the eligibility criteria under it. This thing is though unheard of but apply anyway, rules aren't much followed here.

Yes, it is a good course. BCA degree holders can get admission in the second year of MCA course directly. Candidates who have passed 10+2 are eligible to get admission in BCA course. Usually, MCA duration is 3 year. But, the time being universities offer two types MCA. One is MCA-LE (lateral entry programme) it is for those students which are having BCA B.Sc-IT or other degree like these two. If any student have professional graduation in computer or IT they all are eligible for MCA-LE programme. Students directly take admission in second year. So, MCA LE programme is for 2 years. For other students those are non-technical background select MCA general. The duration of this course is 3 year. So, if you have IT degree, you can directly take admission in 2nd year. 1. MCA first year eligibility: recognized Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3 Year duration with Mathematics at 10+2 level. Or recognised Bachelors Degree of minimum 3 Year duration with Mathematics as one of the subjects. Or should have pass in BCA Degree of minimum 3 Year duration from a recognized University. Obtained at least 50% marks (47.5% for SC candidates of Haryana) in the qualifying Examination. Note: Candidates having passed Mathematics/ Statistics in one semester/ in one year as the case
