The college has a dress code policy for the students and staff. The dress code policy is as follows:The students and staff are expected to wear neat, clean and decent clothes that are appropriate for an academic environment.The students and staff are not allowed to wear jeans, T-shirts, shorts, leggings, capris, sleeveless tops, low-necked tops, transparent or tight-fitting clothes, etc. The students and staff are not allowed to have any tattoos, piercings or body art that are visible or inappropriate etc.

Model Engineering College Thrikkakara Kochi offers following courses: B.Tech in six specialisation (computer Science and engineering, computer Science and business systems, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Biomedical Engineering, electrical and electronics engineering and mechanical engineering.) Each specialisation have 60 seats. Mtech in four specialisation (computer Science and engineering, ece, electronics with specialisation in Optoelectronics and Optical Communication and mechanical engineering. ) each specialisation have 18 seats.

Model Engineering College Thrikkakara Kochi conducts internal exams for each course as part of the internal assessment component of the academic evaluation. The internal assessment marks are based on assignments, quizzes, seminars, etc. The internal exams are usually conducted twice in a semester. The duration of each exam is one hour and the marks are 30. If a student fails in an internal exam, he or she will get zero marks for that exam and it will affect his or her internal assessment marks. The internal assessment marks are calculated by taking the average of the two internal exams and adding 10 marks for attendance and 10 marks fo

The internal assessment marks are based on assignment, quizzes, seminars etc. The internal exams are connected as per the scheduled announced by the college. The duration of each exam is one hour and the maximum marks are 30. The student who miss the internal exams without valid reasons or fail to Register for the exams will not be allowed to appear for a re- exam and will lose the marks for that exam

The CGPA at Model Engineering College Thrikkakara Kochi calculated as follows:Each course in the curriculum has a certain number of credits assigned to it, depending on the contact hours, theory, practical, etc. The total number of credits for a B.Tech course is 180 and for an M.Tech course is 64. S grade for 90 and above percentage of marks, A grade for 85 to below 90, B grade for 80 to below 85, C grade for 70 to below 80, D grade for 60 to below 70, E grade for 50 to below 60, F grade for below 50.
