MFA History

A Master of Fine Arts MFA in History of Art is a postgraduate history course. The History of Art means visual art, which may be defined as any activity or product made by humans in a visual form for aesthetical or communicative purposes, expressing ideas, emotions, or, in general, a worldview.

There are four categories of courses offered to the students, such as The Core Course, Major Elective Course: specialisation, Minor Elective Course: Supporting and Dissertation, Tour Report, and Presentation.

A Master of Fine Arts in History of Art is a two-year-long course. The course is career-orienting in nature, which opens many scopes for students after its successful completion along with further study options. MFA. (History of Art) Eligibility criteria are: Students should have passed a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% marks and a background in Social Sciences, Liberal Arts, or Fine Arts preferably.

Candidates can work in a different field, including tourist attractions, museums, art galleries, historical monuments, and so on. They can be selected as team members of Indian Historical (Arts) delegations targeting foreign countries and India as well. After passing the course, they can become heritage managers responsible for the conservation of a historical building, landscape, or heritage site.
