Admission to this PG-level course is through a Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). For selection, candidates have to take the MGU CAT exam, which is conducted in-house. Based on the candidates' score in the entrance examination, a selection list is released by the university. Candidates who make it to the list become eligible for participation in the counselling round. The seats are allotted after document verification during counselling.

Moreover, its affiliated colleges accept other entrance exam scores as well. The accepted exam list include CPGET/MAT/CAT/CMAT/KMAT Kerala/Kerala University Admission.

Ragging in any form is a cognizable offence and is banned in MG University, Roorkee. The college premises has strict laws against the student found guilty of any act such as abusing, assaulting, threatening, teasing and embarrassment to new students, among others.

The BTech fee structure of the programme is INR 1.1 lakh- 4 Lacs for the four-year programme. MG University offers BTech specilisation in Polymer Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, CSE, Naval Architecture, Cyber Security, and others. The fee structure does not inculde the hostel and mess fees.
