It depends upon the fact that in which course the candidate is willing to take the admission. The admission procedure is different for all the courses offered by Kingston Educational Institute, Kolkata. For example :-

• Admission to Diploma courses offered at Kingston Polytechnic College is based on the rank secured by candidates in JEXPO, conducted by West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development (WBSCTVESD).
• To take admission in B.Com, BCA and BSc the candidates need to appear in CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by MAKAUT.

On the other hand, admissions at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra are also both entrance-based and merit-based. The university offers admission to some courses based on the cutoff list as per the desired course, and it also accepts a number of national-level entrance tests, such as UPCET and UPTU

Based on the data available, it is not clear whether admissions at Indian Maritime University, Chennai-Mumbai Campus MERI are entrance-based or merit-based. However, the university offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and Diploma programs in the field of marine engineering and science, and admissions are made based on eligibility criteria and selection processes.The university conducts an entrance exam, IMU CET, for most of its UG and PG programs, and admissions are made based on the merit list and the availability of seats.For lateral entry into the second year of B.Tech (Marine Engineering), candidates with a Diploma in Marine/Mechanical Engineering with at least 60% marks overall are eligible to apply, and admissions are made based on the total available number of seats vacant and aggregate percentage of marks in their respective diploma

Merit-based admissions are used at Banaras Hindu University's (BHU) Faculty of Law. This indicates that candidates are chosen based on both their academic standing and how well they performed on the admission exam.

Candidates must take the Banaras Hindu University Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET) in order to be considered for undergraduate admissions. Every year, the UET is held in April or May.

Semester system of education is followed in the University.

V.C.I. at All India level and 85% of the total seats are filled by Jharkhand Combined Competitive Entrance Examination Board, Ranchi. Semester system of education is followed in the University. Each semester consists of approximately 115 working days. The residential requirements for the award of Bachelor’s degree is eight semesters including Rural work Experience in B.Sc. (Ag.) and B.Sc. (Forestry), during the last semester. The residential requirements of B.V.Sc. & A.H. Course is of 10 Semesters. The last Semester consists of 6 month compulsory internship programme.
