At the Sha-Shib Group of Institutions, Hindustan Aerospace and Engineering admits students only on the basis of merit. For admission to its certificate programs, the institute does not administer a specific entrance exam; instead, candidates are chosen based on their previous academic standing. The institute offers merit-based scholarships to its students in addition to having a completely merit-based selection process for certificate programs.

Admission to the Indian Maritime University, Chennai-Mumbai Campus MERI is based on both an entrance exam and merit. There is an entrance exam (IMU CET) for UG and PG courses such as B.Sc., B.Tech, DNS, M.Sc., and MBA. Merit-based admissions to the BBA, M.Sc., and MBA programs may occur based on available seats and aggregate grades.

The admissions at Department of Law, Punjab University are based on the merit of the candidate. The cut-off marks are different for different castes like 36.4 for General, 34.9 for SC, 38.5 for ST and 38.1 for other Backward castes. The minimum cut off scores for PU LLB 2023 entrance exam is 20 out of 100 for General/ OBC category, and 15 out of 100 marks for SC/ ST/ PwD categories. Merit is calculated taking 50% of the class +2 percentage including weightages and 50% of the UGLAW Entrance Test marks. Having secured minimum 45% marks in aggregate for general category and 40% marks in aggregate for SC/ST category.

The admissions at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Guwahati are entrance based. Online counseling will be used for admission to the M.S. (Pharm), M.S, M.Pharm, M.B.A. (Pharm), M.Tech. (Pharm), and M.Tech. programmes. Counseling would be provided to candidates according to their performance on the common entrance exam. For MS/M.Tech Medical Devices courses, a different exam will be held, and a candidate's counselling will be determined by their performance in that exam.
