National institute of electronics and information technology agartala (NIELET is a central government institution located in Tripura's West Tripura district. NIELIT Agartala is the 11th center of NIELIT in the country and the 5th in the North Eastern Region.

To join the National Institute of Electronics and Information Techology (NIT, Agartala) also known as Tripura Engineering College, the students must follow the following guidelines:-

1. First of all the candidate need to appear in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and secure a merit list rank on the basis of marks obtained in this examination.
2. To be able to appear in the JEE, one must have a minimum of 75% marks in Class XII Senior Secondary Examination Certificate (65% for SC/ST/)
3. The candidate should be within the category-wise top 20 percentile in their respective Class XII board examination.
4.  Once you have secured a decent score in the JEE  register for the counselling process
5.  During the counselling process, candidates must select NIT Agartala as their preferred institute.

If your name comes in the merit list than for NIT Agartala, you would be selected and given an admission in the premier institute.
