There are a total of 100 questions in the exam which are divided across 4 sections - English language and IQ, General knowledge of news and current affairs, Entertainment media knowledge and Brands and brand communication basic knowledge. Each section consist of 25 questions and 1 mark per question.

As per the official exam pattern of GMCET there are 4 sections - English language and IQ, General knowledge of news and current affairs, Entertainment media knowledge and Brands and brand communication basic knowledge. The GMCET question paper will be based on these 4 sections. Each section will consist of 25 questions which will in multiple choice format. Total there will be 100 questions and the best part of the exam pattern is there will be no negative marking in the GMCET exam.

There are a total of 4 subjects in the GMCET exam. The 4 subjects are - English language and IQ, General knowledge of news and current affairs, Entertainment media knowledge and Brands and brand communication basic knowledge. Each subject has 25 questions each which will be of easy to moderate level. The question paper will be based on these subjects hence candidates are advised to go through the subjects in detail while preparing for the exam. The best way to cover the syllabus of GMCET is to go through daily newspapers and magazines and current affairs website.

The syllabus of the GMCET examination consists of the subjects and topics on which the question paper will be based. Candidates must go through the syllabus in detail while preparing for the examination. As per the syllabus of the GMCET there are four sections on which the question paper will be based - English language and IQ, General knowledge of news and current affairs, Entertainment media knowledge, and brand and brand communication basic knowledge. There is no designated exam centres for the GMCET exam. The GMCET exam is conducted in online mode and candidates can attempt the exam from the comfort of their home using their laptop or desktop. There will be a portal which will be shared with the candidates one day prior at their registered email address and mobile number. Candidates will have to login onto the portal 15 minutes before the commencement of the exam to attempt the examination. On the portal the exam questions will appear in multiple choice format and candidates will have to attempt them.

The GMCET admit card consists of candidate's details such as their name, their roll number, the GMCET exam timings, slot details and the exam day guidelines. Aspirants who receive the admit card of GMCET will have to be available with their laptop/destop active with high-speed internet connection atleast 15 minutes before the commencement of the GMCET exam. The admit card of GMCET will be sent to the candidates one day prior to the exam on their registered email address and mobile number.

The GMCET exam is conducted in online mode, and the GMCET 2025 admit card will be available 48 hours before the exam date; ie., July 31, 2025. Once released, candidates can download the admit card and check for the following details:
Name, GMCET Registration ID, Roll Number for GMCET 2025, Date of Birth, Category, photograph, signature, examination schedule, examination Time and instructions to candidates.

Unlike other entrance examinations, there are no interviews for the Global Media Common Entrance Test (GMCET) exam. The admisison process of the Global Media Common Entrance Test consists of registration, filling out the application form, appearing for the examination, and qualifying it. As per their result, candidates will be given an AIR ranking and as per the ranking these qualified candidates will have to appear for the document verification process and submit the fee of the college/university they have been allotted.

The GMCET application form is released in online mode and is filled via the same medium, candidates will have to pay the application fee of the GMCET application form in online mode only. In order to make the payment, they will have to use their Debit card/Credit/Net banking/UPI, etc. There are no offline means to make the application fee payment, nor there is any demand draft medium. Candidates should also refrain from any websites, or persons pertaining to being GMCET officials and asking for fee payment. They must only rely on the official website - gmcet.org and their official payment merchants to pay the application fee.
